Seoul Palaces: Unhyeongung 운현공

I was lucky that the AirBnB (Lovely Lavinia) that I stayed in was near to one of the palaces - Unhyeongung.

History
Unhyeongung is the home of Emperor Gojong, 26th king of Joseon Dynasty. The earlier buildings were either destroyed or damaged, but some of the construction remains. The remaining structure includes: Norakdang Hall, Noandang Hall, Irodang Hall and Sujiksa.

Norakdang Hall
The largest building within the complex and one of the two woman's residence complex. This is the building where Emperor Gojong and Emperess Myeongseong wedding and other family feasts were held, and where the traditional wedding ceremony continues to be held.

Noandang Hall
Where Heungseon Daewon-gun received his guests and also served as the leisure quarters for the men. Heungseon Daewon-gun, father of Emperor Gojong, carried out all of his business.

Irodang Hall
One of the two woman's residence on the residence complex.

Sujiksa
Residence of security and building managers of Unhyeongung.

Traditional costume can be rented at 3,300won. However, I would recommend saving that for palaces like Gyeongbokgung or Bukchon Hanok.
