Seoul Land 서울랜드

There's a few Theme Parks in Seoul:
   - Lotte World 롯데월드
   - Everland에버랜드
   - Seoul Land 서울랜드
   - Wolmi Theme Park 월미테마파크

Technically, only Lotte World can be considered as a theme park located in Seoul as the other 3 are located in either Gyeonggi-do or Incheon. The most visited and convenient to go Theme Park is definitely Lotte World. The second easiest to reach Theme Park goes to Seoul Land.

Similarly to Everland, Seoul Land is an all-outdoor Theme Park. Not as big as compared to Lotte World or Everland, neither does Seoul Land has more exciting rides than the two. But if you're looking for a Theme Park that does not have up-to-2-hours queue, or if you have young kids, or if you're not a thrill-ride seeker then Seoul Land is your answer.

If you're a fan of Korean drama, then you may have realised that Episode 7 of the drama, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon 힘쎈여자 도봉순, was filmed here.

As well as Episode 14 of She was Pretty 그녀는 예뻤다.
Like any other Theme Park, the first thing I would recommend is to get the Park map! One thing I have realised is that Park map is not easily available in Korea as compared to the Theme Park in Singapore, so just ask one from the staff at the Entrance or the staff who are working hard to keep the park clean!
If not, there's always map available in the park!
Otherwise, get the soft copy here!

Seoul Land is divided into 5 'lands':
   - Tomorrow Land / Future World
   - Samchulli Land
   - World Plaza
   - Fantasy Land / Character Town
   - Adventure Land

First ride I had was 'King Viking', most commonly known as 'Viking Ship'. I seem to always have a weakness for Viking Ship. Weakness as in I'm freaking scared of Viking Ship!!

Character Town: World Cup
Skipping all the kids' rides, I arrived at this ride called 'World Cup'. The ride vehicles will spin throughout the ride. On top of that, the machine will turn left, right, up and down. Not recommended for those who just had their meal.

Tomorrow Land: Double Loop Coaster
Samchulli Land: Top Spin
Tomorrow Land: Black Hole 2000
Tomorrow Land: Black Hole 2000
Tomorrow Land: Black Hole 2000
I took Black Hole 2000 like more than 6 times in total I think. Each time queueing around 30 mins or less. Yes, I was so bored that I decided to take photo on the ride.

In my opinion, there isn't any thrilling rides. When I say thrilling, I mean thrilling; one that is more thrilling than Battlestar Galactical in Universal Studios Singapore. Black Hole 2000 is one that I find it acceptable. I guess the only reason Seoulland isn't as popular as the other theme park, despite the convenience in travel, is that the rides are not as thrilling as compare to Everland or Lotte World.

Nonetheless, it is great for families with kids as the rides are more on the gentle side and you don't need to queue for too long.

Other Entertainment
As like other theme park, special performance are available at certain timing.

On top of performance, Seoulland is filled with these wall mural and beautiful backdrops for you to take some Instagram-worthy shots.

Food & Beverage
Seoul Land was having a Asian Food Festival when I went, which is one of the reason why I chose Seoul Land instead of Everland (I haven't been to Everland at that point of time) . I was missing Singapore's food so much!!

But honestly, of all the delicious food we have in Singapore, why Curry Pineapple Fried Rice?? It is not even a representative food of Singapore! What happened to Chicken Rice, Chilli Crab, Fish Head Steamboat, BCM, Fried Prawn Noodles, Rojak??

Either way, I decided to go for the it.

Can't remember how much does it cost. It's edible but not one that I would call delicious.

Direction
Seoul Grand Park Station (Line 4), Exit 2
Exit from Exit 2 and walk straight till you see a building.
Purchase the Elephant Train ticket @ ₩1,000. Alight at the 3rd stop.
Note that this ₩1,000 ticket is only for one-way. You gotta fork out another ₩1,000 for the trip back.

Ticket Pricing
The difference between 'Daily Passport Ticket' and 'Admission Only Ticket' is that 'Daily Passport Ticket' entitles you to all the rides while 'Admission Only Ticket' does not. 'Admission Only Ticket' allows you to just enter the park and enjoy facilities like the Folk Museum, their parade and other performance available. Therefore, DO NOT LOSE YOUR TICKET AT ALL TIMES!! Cause your ticket is needed to enter the rides. But if you lost your ticket, like what happened to me, don't worry. There's ticket booths available inside various corner of the Theme Park. Just show them the receipt will do.
