Shopping in Seoul - Yeongdeungpo Station 영등포역

People go to Korea for various reasons, and shopping is definitely one of the top 3 reasons why I loves Korea so much!

When it comes to shopping in Seoul, few locations will always pop-up in people's mind:
- Dongdaemun 동대문
- Ewha 이화
- Hongdae 홍대
- Myeongdong 명동
- Express Bus Terminal 고속버스터미널

But there's another shopping place which I recently discovered during my latest trip to Seoul - Yeongdeungpo Station 영등포구청. Yeongdeungpo Station is located on Line 1 of the Seoul Subway.

Exit from Yeongdeungpo Station and look for this "Times Square" sign. Walk in and ta-dah! It's another shopping heaven!!
The variety of clothing available here may not be as much as Dongdaemun or Express Bus Terminal (then again, the clothing from these places seem to replicate between stores), but what I like about here is the bright lights and wide walkway between stores.
I went to both here and Express Bus Terminal on a busy Saturday and the big difference between the crowd! Perhaps Express Bus Terminal is famous amongst tourists, so much so that it's always crowded.

Another point to add is that there's more male clothing shop here as compared to Express Bus Terminal. Some clothing here may be slightly cheaper too. There's this skirt, which is really popular in Korea. In Express Bus Terminal, it's selling for ₩15,000 - ₩20,000. However,  all the stores in Yeongdeungpo is selling for ₩10,000.

If you're thinking this may be a shopping place for those ajumma 아줌마, then no-no. There's a corner aside for those ajumma and ahjussi. But the main street is filled with youngsters' clothing.

Totally in love with this outer shirt. It even comes with a hoodie! But it's too big for me or my 오빠
Instead I got this dress for ₩10,000!!
If you hate crowded streets like I do, then this is definitely the place for you! Do drop by here for a little walk, you may be surprised at what you can find! Alternatively, you may visit the departmental store nearby!
